Jacksonville Airport (JAX)

The closest to St. Augustine, but still about an hour drive. We recommend coordinating with other guests. Some may choose to rent a car, which can be useful particularly if you opt to stay by the beach. We do recommend booking that ahead of time.

Orlando Airport

Orlando is a bit further to Jacksonville (around 90 minutes) and more prone to traffic, but flights to Orlando may be less expensive and direct. This may be a good option for those renting cars.

Hotel and Accommodation Information

There are numerous hotel, motel, B&B, and VRBO accommodations in the St. Augustine area with proximity to the historic district and the Atlantic Ocean beaches. We do not have a large room block at a particular location, however, below are suggestions of places where we have stayed or visited. We encourage you to secure accommodations as early as possible as May is considered high season in St. Augustine. Hotels we recommend are either located in the historic section or by the beach: Historic St. Augustine - district between the Mantanzas and San Sebastian Rivers. Lots of historic sites, restaurants, bars, and shops. Parking can be tight near and is city-metered. Trinity Parish Church and the River House are located in this area and provide free parking. The River House is 1 mile south of the church on the Mantanzas River. St. Augustine and Vilano Beaches- on the beautiful Atlantic ocean. Great places to walk, swim, and fish, or to watch the dolphins jump and the surfers catch a wave. Beautiful, and typically not crowded. The historic Bridge of Lions connects St. Augustine Beach to the historic district and, when requested, will open to allow boats through (on the hour and half hour, until 6 pm). Be sure to allow time for driving to and from events in case the bridge is up.
