FAQs

Question

Can we bring kids?

Answer

While we love your children, this will be a kid-free wedding. You're more than welcome to bring your kids with you, as Steamboat is a very family friendly town! However, please arrange a babysitter to watch them during the main events on Friday & Saturday. You can reach out to Resort Sitters (www.resortsitters.com/steamboat-babysitters) or Steamboat Babysitting Company (www.steamboatbabysitting.com) to arrange a sitter.

Question

Is there a Welcome Party?

Answer

Yes. We’re kicking off the weekend with drinks in downtown Steamboat (exact location to be shared soon). We encourage you to enjoy dinner at one of the many great restaurants in town—check out our Things To Do page for favorites—then join us for drinks and hellos from 8:00–10:00 PM. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Feel free to dress in a mountain casual attire - relaxed but polished - for the evening!

Question

What is the ceremony and reception dress code?

Answer

The attire for our wedding ceremony and reception is cocktail attire. Jackets are expected for men, and cocktail-style dresses are encouraged for women. Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors on grass, with dinner and the reception held in a tent and access to the lawn. October mountain weather can be unpredictable, with cooler temperatures and wind in the evening, so we strongly recommend bringing a warm jacket, coat, shawl, or wrap to stay comfortable. Please also choose footwear suitable for grass, such as boots, block heels, wedges, or flats, and avoid pointy heels.

Question

Can I drive to Lucky 8 Ranch?

Answer

All guests will be required to take the shuttle as we cannot have guests driving on the property. Our venue is located just outside of downtown Steamboat, and transportation will be provided to and from the venue. Shuttles will depart from two central pickup locations, with two return departure times from the venue at the end of the evening. The full shuttle schedule, including exact pickup locations and times, will be shared closer to the wedding date.

Question

How far is the Steamboat Resort/Base from Downtown?

Answer

Steamboat Mountain Resort is approximately a 10-minute drive from downtown Steamboat Springs. Free shuttle transportation is widely available, including the town’s safe and reliable bus system, and many accommodations also offer complimentary on-demand or scheduled shuttles—be sure to check with your lodging directly. Uber and Lyft are also available throughout town.
