Downtown Mystic Shops
A stroll through downtown Mystic is a must. If you're lucky, you'll get to see the drawbridge let a ship or two underneath! Parking is sometimes a challenge, especially in the summer months. Street parking is available, but we recommend finding parking at the Mystic Public Parking lot, located on Water St behind Sift Bake Shop. Ubers/Lyfts should also be easily available from the hotels and Mystic Village area.
Mystic Seaport Museum
A must do if you have time to spare in Mystic! A unique museum that transports you back in time to an old New England seaside port.
Stonington Borough
Stroll down water street, grab a coffee, and check out the local shops. At the end of Water Street visit the Old Stone Lighthouse and Stonington Point for 360 degree views of Long Island Sound. If you are hungry, we love Milagro Cafe for Mexican food. We also love Noah's for breakfast.
The Velvet Mill
Check out the Velvet Mill in Stonington Borough. There are small shops, Beer'd Brewery and art galleries throughout the old mill building.
Mystic Aquarium
You can't go to mystic without hearing about the aquarium! A fun spot, located directly across the street from the Mystic Hilton.
Engine Room
A great spot for american, gastropub fare. We recommend snagging a seat at the bar!
Dog Watch Cafe
Located in Stonington Borough and overlooking Stonington Harbor, this is one of our favorite spots for fresh seafood and waterfront dining. Grab a drink and fresh oysters on the dock behind the restaurant. There is plenty of easy parking available here, but we recommend getting reservations to avoid a long wait.
Sift Bake Shop Mystic
Incredible pastries and coffee! Very popular in the area, so we recommend going during the non-peak hours to avoid standing in the very long line.
Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream
If you’re an ice cream lover like Henry is, enjoy a treat from the Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream. Sit on the side deck overlooking the mystic river and watch the boats travel under the drawbridge.

Mystic Pizza
Stop in at the Pizza Place that put this small fishing village on the map. You can enjoy a slice of pizza (or five) at the bar, or grab a pie to go.
