Anna and Gio met in college at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2020. Gio was a student mentor for a class through the College of Engineering, and Anna visited the class as a guest speaker to promote a student council group. Because of the campus mask mandate, Gio could barely see her face, but he loved her eyes. He made sure to ask a fake question at the end of her presentation, and Anna noticed since no one in the other classes really cared about the student council group. After class, Gio asked the professor (extra professionally) for the “guest speaker’s” email address, but she wasn't allowed to give it out. Fast forward a few months, Anna went to a get-together at a house that turned out to be Gio's. They met again and finally learned each other's names. For the next couple years, they were friends/acquaintances/distant/friends again before finally beginning to date in January 2022. While dating, they’ve gone from friends to best friends. They’ve loved spending time traveling, going on walks, attending concerts, and being active. They had been together for 3 and a half years when Gio proposed at the Holy Family Shrine in Gretna. They are so excited to celebrate with friends and family in August 2026!
