Travel Note
Because accommodations on Orcas Island are limited and book quickly, we highly recommend reserving your lodging for our wedding weekend at your earliest convenience. We know it may feel early, but with limited options and the unique logistics of an island destination, it’s truly best to get this detail locked in now. We've listed several hotels on Orcas below but there are also Airbnbs, Vrbos, and other vacation rentals available. Feel free to reach out to us with any lodging questions and we'll do our best to help you find a great place!
Travel Note
For those coming from out of state, the best way to get to Orcas is to fly to Seattle-Tacoma airport (SEA) and then rent a car. Next, drive approximately 2 hours to Anacortes ferry terminal and take the 1.5 hour ferry to Orcas. You will need to make a reservation in advance for the specific ferry you plan to take to Orcas Island AND from Orcas Island to Anacortes. The first 30% of reservations will be available at 10 am Pacific time on April 14 and then then the next 30% will be released 2 weeks before the sailing date, and the final 30% will be available 2 days before the sailing date. Do not attempt to go standby. For more info, please click the below link that takes you to the Washington State Ferries website. For reservation, you can also call (206) 464-6400 on the release date at 7am and then immediately press 1 to make a reservation over the phone. You'll also need to purchase a ferry ticket online or when you arrive at the terminal for everyone in your party. These tickets are round trip tickets. Other options for getting to Orcas include booking a shuttle to take you from SEA to Anacortes and then purchasing a passenger ticket (round-trip) and walking on to the ferry. Then once you get to Orcas, you can use local transportation options such as Orcas Island Taxi and Orcas Island Scenic Shuttle, to get to your hotel and our wedding venue. *Note that Uber, Lift & other mainstream taxi companies do not operate on Orcas Island. Call the local cabs a couple days in advance for your pick up needs. Or, you can rent a car on the island: OI Rental Cars, Orcascars (links below). Alternatively, you can take a regional plane from the Seattle area to Orcas. Kenmore Air flies daily commercial flights from Boeing field to Eastsound airport and seaplanes from Lake Union to other locations on Orcas. Other options are Friday Harbor Seaplanes and Point-2-Point Air. In this case, you would need to use local transportation as above.
