We met freshman year at Ohio University while working at the local theater, Memorial Auditorium, or “MemAud”. Evan started off as a stagehand while Evan’s older sister Jillian trained Anna as a production assistant. We kept finding ourselves working the same shows and after one late shift, we walked home together and found out we lived in the same dorm, Jefferson Hall. Evan was interested in Anna, but she had a boyfriend at the time. And even worse...she was a Steelers fan. Evan would occasionally check in with Jillian on the status of Anna’s Steelers fanhood...and her boyfriend. With each painful response of “they’re still dating”, Evan had to accept that he and Anna would just be friends. Until one day, Evan found out that Anna and her boyfriend had finally broken up. As he rushed to her dorm room to finally ask her out, it was too late. She had already caught the eye of another guy. It wouldn’t be until the beginning of junior year when Evan finally got his chance. This time he wasn’t going to miss it. Dinner at China Panda and a not-so-scary horror movie called Mama later and Evan had his first real girlfriend, who, little did he know, would also become his last. Fast forward a few years, after a 2,000 mile move to Los Angeles, two interior design jobs, an MFA, and a television show (premiering in 2020!) Evan finally asked Anna’s dad Mike for his permission to marry his daughter over a beer at New Belgium Brewery. Then, almost a year later, with Mike’s approval, we departed for yet another brewery -- Sierra Nevada. Anna thought that she and Evan were just grabbing a few beers there, but Evan had other plans. We took a walk around the grounds to the scenic amphitheater where Evan got down on one knee and popped the question and of course, Anna said “yes!”. Now, on 10/19/19 we can’t wait to celebrate with you...at none other than a brewery, in the same month as our very first date, eight years later. And most importantly...Anna is now a Bengals fan.
