What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

We request that all guests RSVP by September 17th, 2023. If you need to edit your RSVP response, please do so even if the deadline has passed.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to expense, we are not allowing our guests to bring a plus one. If your significant other, friend, etc. is invited, their name or the word "Guest" will be listed in your party when you RSVP for yourself. As much as we would love for everyone to bring a friend, we simply can't afford the additional costs. Thank you for understanding!

Have you reserved a block of rooms at a hotel for guests?

Answer

All guests are welcome to book a room at Holiday Inn Express Dawsonville with our "Wedding Best Value" discount. The discount is subject to availability; no rooms have been held in a block. Guests are encouraged to book as early as possible. Visit the "Lodging" page for more information.

How should I dress?

Answer

We ask that guests dress in formal, semi-formal, or "dressy casual" attire. Please remember to check the weather and dress appropriately!

Should I arrive early to the ceremony?

Answer

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to find seats and get settled before the ceremony starts at 4:30. A cellist will be performing starting at 4:00, and you don't want to miss it!

Am I allowed to take photos at the wedding?

Answer

Please refrain from taking photos during our ceremony. We want the photographer's photos to be free of cell phones! At the reception, take as many photos as you wish! We will have a QR code for you to upload your photos and videos to our private gallery.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony will be outdoors, and the following reception will be indoors in a climate-controlled space.

What type of food will there be?

Answer

We plan to have buffet-style BBQ beef brisket and pulled chicken with roasted veggies and Southern sides. And let's not forget the cake! If you need a full menu and/or an allergen information sheet, email amforbes566@gmail.com to have one sent to you.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will provide a limited amount of wine and beer for our guests who wish to drink. There will not be an open bar.

What time will the reception end?

Answer

There will be a bride and groom send-off at 9:00 pm. All guests must leave the venue by 9:30 pm. No cars should be left overnight.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Answer

Yes! Our ceremony and reception will both be at the venue listed on the "Details" page.
