Neither of us can really pinpoint the moment we met, it just feels like we’ve always known each other. We both grew up in Pass Christian, Mississippi, just minutes apart. Chris went to elementary school right down the road from mine and spent years playing soccer alongside my twin brother. It wasn’t until middle school, when Chris started at St. Stanislaus and I went to Our Lady Academy, that our paths officially crossed. Living only a few minutes away, Chris became a regular at our house, always with my brother. One of my best friends, Wallis, was the first to notice how naturally we were drawn to each other. She gave us the nickname “Channa” and ran with it. She was convinced from the start that we were more than just friends. And, as it turns out… she was right. On July 4th, 2015 Chris officially asked me to be his girlfriend. We were young (way too young to know what that would mean) but what started as a first crush turned out to be something so much more. Our relationship only grew stronger through high school, and thanks to both of our families’ deep LSU roots through college as well! We’ve built a life we love, surrounded by family, friends, and friends who feel like family from every season of life, and we can’t wait to start this next chapter brings together!!!
Chris proposed on the pier at the Pass Christian Yacht Club, surrounded by the most beautiful flowers and the fishing pole I gave him in high school. What started as a normal weekend quickly turned unforgettable. We’d spent the day with his cousins and planned to go to dinner at Trapani’s, a tradition. Right before dinner, Chris said we had to rush to the pier because his younger cousins wanted to fish before the sun went down. He even showed me a convincing text to prove it. To my surprise, the gate was covered in flowers… and there were no cousins in sight. Chris proposed right there, and it was the most special, unforgettable moment. But the surprises weren’t over! When we arrived back at his house, everyone we love was waiting for us on the porch! All the people who’ve watched our love grow over the last 10 years were there to celebrate with us. Our favorite foods were all there from pizza and tacos to truffle fries and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Thoughtful touches were everywhere, from personalized cups and matches to every little detail you could imagine. It was truly the best day ever, one I wish I could relive again and again!
