Anna and Christian first crossed paths at an FSU football game back in the Fall of 2020. Christian, a member of the medical student bible study led by Anna’s dad, agreed to attend the game with his friend Cuneyt. To Christian’s surprise, Anna and her sister Victoria were also there to enjoy the game with their dad. Christian and Anna had an opportunity to talk some during the game. However, much to both Anna’s and her dad’s disappointment, Christian was not single at that time. Over the next couple of years, Anna and Christian occasionally ran into each other and enjoyed it when they did. Christian, who had made the bible study a regular part of his routine, hesitated to make a move, fearing it might jeopardize friendship with her dad. Yet, he often thought about Anna- how they connected so seamlessly, her captivating blue eyes, and her exceptional cooking. Anna sensed Christian's hesitation, but she often thought about him and the comfort and joy she felt around him. As the end of 2022 approached, Anna’s dad caught up with Christian's friend, Cuneyt, and shared updates about his family, including Anna and what he referred to as her “suitors.” About this time, Anna was preparing to live with Karli, who happened to be dating Christian’s roommate and friend, Tripp. Sensing this might be his final chance and a perfect opportunity, Christian sought out spending time with Anna in group settings, hoping to start off as friends. However, soon, Christian and Anna found themselves spending time with one another’s families, engaging in meaningful conversations, and feeling the beginnings of love. Since this time, Anna and Christian have been dating with the purpose of discovering if their relationship had the potential for a good marriage. They were curious about one another and asked challenging questions, like Anna asking Christian psychoanalytic questions, while Christian asked Anna about her joint health and tested her ability to throw a football. On the eve of a big medical school exam, Anna prayed to God for Christian’s success for the first time in a while. Anna continued to pursue God from a perspective of authenticity that Christian loved and admired. Anna and Christian began attending church together and reading the Bible together daily. Their connection and love deepened through seeking Jesus and one another, knowing that God was pursuing them, too. With prayer and discernment, Anna and Christian made the decision to marry and commit their lives to one another in Christ. Christian engineered a flawless proposal on a pier overlooking the sunset in Charleston, South Carolina on January 19, 2024. Anna was successfully surprised, and both were overwhelmed with happiness and excitement. Christian even hired a photographer who captured the joy of the moment for us to share with you! Christian likes to passionately proclaim that he was waiting for Anna from the moment they met until the day they began dating, which was officially on March 12, 2023. In reality, from October 2020 to the present day, we believe God was working in us to become more of the people we are called to be: prepared for dating, for marriage, and for each other. We are so honored to celebrate our marriage with a cloud of witnesses who are loving, genuine, kind, generous, and faithful.
