Chris and I met on Match.com. He asked me out on a belated Valentine's Day date. We went out to dinner at 2SP, where I was smitten with his storytelling abilities (my favorite is about taking his little brother out to the bike trails). After dinner we went to Lucy's to get ice cream. It wasn't until a bit later that I learned Chris doesn't really care for ice cream. A few months later we flew to Greece for my 30th birthday. Even though Chris waited until the day before our trip to get his passport, I knew he was going to be my (travel) partner for life, long before that!
It was the day of our first Christmas party and I was running behind, as usual, but Chris was unusually anxious all day. I didn't realize why until he was on one knee in our dining room. Chris had asked both of our parents to arrive early, so they could witness the proposal, too. I still have no idea exactly what he said to me, but I'm told it was utterly romantic. Too bad there's no video footage...
