In August of 2023, Anna moved home from her 5 year stint in Los Angeles, California. One of her best friends, Paige, and one of Chris's best friends, Justin, were due to get married the same weekend. Low and behold both Chris and Anna were in the bridal party. The rehearsal and wedding came and went and neither Chris or Anna approached the other. Rightfully so, there were kids there that distracted Anna and all of Chris's friends were in one place at one time! At the close of the night, everyone went to a cabin after-party where the bride's mom convinced Anna to stay just one more night. In doing so, she set herself up for what would be the start of her future. The next day, everyone hung around a dock on the lake. They chatted and laughed and eventually dispersed leaving just Anna, Chris, and a few of his friends. Something clicked. That night everyone decided to go into the downtown area and have some fun. Prior to getting on the bus to go, Anna spied Chris helping himself to a beer...with his left hand. Something about that caught her attention, so she chatted him up on the bus. He sat next to her and truly never left her side that night, especially since she was stuck in a group with 4 grown men. They left the small Michigan town the next day and proceeded to go on their first date the following week where they stayed together for over 3 hours. After that night, they never left each others' side. Chris would surprise her by committing petty theft for a restaurant cup Anna just HAD to have; Anna would let her parents know 'I'm going to marry him'. Two years later, a Wicker Park apartment, an adopted cat, and 3 month old dog, Chris got down on one knee on the path they walked countless times in their first year and a half together. The rest is history.
