The first time Brendon and Anna saw each other was at church. Brendon was on the platform leading worship and was suddenly more than a little distracted when she walked into the room. "Who is she? Where is she from? Is she single?" After Anna started attending the young adults small group (held at Brendon's apartment) Brendon finally got up the courage to ask her out on a date. They've been falling more and more in love ever since.

Anna told Brendon that he did not have to tell her when he would be proposing... but she did tell him that she would need to make sure her nails were done first. So when he told her that she should probably have them done sometime during the week leading up to Labor Day, it probably gave it away. Brendon took Anna to "their spot" (the top of a set of stairs overlooking Lake Michigan) and popped the big question. The biggest surprise of the evening was being greeted afterwards by a group of friends and family that drove in from all over the Midwest to celebrate with them!
