We met at the University of Pikeville. After running into each other several times in the ACE program and having a few classes together, Shena Shepherd decided to play match maker. Anna fell asleep at our first date. We ate lunch together at college every day the semester before Austin graduated. Date nights became more and more frequent. We started spending more time together than apart. We were either going on walks, going to bingo, or watched movies together. It didn’t take very long before we were each other’s favorite person to spend time with.

I “not so” casually requested Anna to send me photos of what kind of engagement rings she liked. I had the ring for 3 months before I decided just how I wanted to propose. I was so excited at one point that I asked her if she just wanted to see the ring. After thinking for a long time and with the help of Andrea Hurtado, the area was ready. She thankfully said yes. I had asked her a couple times if she’d say yes just to make sure. Now we’re getting married. We couldn’t be more excited to see where our story goes next.
