Anna & Amani

Amani, brought up in Dar es Salaam, comes from the Chagga tribe. His family is originally from Moshi at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. In Chagga weddings:
*The bride's family traditionally organizes a send off party, while the groom's family organizes the wedding. 
*During the reception, the groom's relatives and the bride's relatives take turns to dance in a procession to their traditional music.

Anna was born in Finland, moved to Florida as a child and returned to Finland as a teenager. During her university years, she lived in Tanzania and Sweden. Some wedding traditions that are important to her include:
*Before Anglo influence, Finnish couples traditionally walked down the aisle together.
*In German weddings, the bride hides a coin in her shoe to bring prosperity. Anna's mother insisted on this tradition for the wedding of one of Anna's dear friends and the memory of it has stayed with Anna since.
