Travel & accomodation

The Wedding Website of Anna Menaged and Ahmed Toure
We are so honored that you are traveling such a long way to celebrate our marriage. To help you plan your visit to Marseille, we’ve gathered all the essential travel details here. We look forward to welcoming you to the South of France soon! All of our wedding events will be accessible from the center of Marseille. We recommend flying into Marseille, or flying into Paris and taking a scenic ride on the high-speed TGV train to Marseille. You can also fly into Nice and drive 2 hours across the French Riviera. We recommend staying near the Old Port, as this will have the easiest access to points of interest and transportation for events. We have recommended specific hotels below.

Flight

Marseille Provence Airport

The closest airport is Marseille Provence Airport (MRS), located about 25 minutes from the city center. It is well-served by major international airlines and budget carriers from across Europe. Taxis, ride-sharing services, and a convenient shuttle bus are available at the airport to take you into the city. Another option is to fly into the Nice airport and enjoy a road-trip across the French Riviera (about 2 hours).

Train

Gare de Marseille-Saint-Charles

Marseille's main train station, Gare de Marseille-Saint-Charles, is a major hub with high-speed TGV trains connecting to Paris (around 3.5 hours) and other cities in France and Europe. The station is located on a hill overlooking the city, just a short distance from the Old Port.

Travel Note

Getting Around Marseille

Marseille has an efficient public transport system, including a metro, trams, and buses. Ride-sharing services like Uber are also widely available. For exploring the historic center, your own two feet are your best bet! If you'd like to explore surrounding cities in the south of France, we recommend renting a car.
