Bride
I met Jerome for the first time twice through mutual friends. I say twice because the first time in 2018 I paid no attention:( The second time at a boxing day lime (shout out to Leeann for the invite!) in 2019, he made sure that I did. I remember leaving that night thinking aside from his obviously handsome face, this guy talks a lot. The funny thing was, that as I got to know him I realised that he just talks a lot....to me. A few days later, after getting permission from a mutual friend, he slid into my DMs and we had our first date on old year's night in 2019. This was one of many firsts which included a trip to Tobago and an unexpected pandemic just within 3 months of us meeting. Although the world stood still, our love continued to grow, through many ups and very few downs. P.S. Based on Jerome's version, I stand corrected. I slid into his DMs first.
Groom
We officially met at my brother Greg's Boxing Day lime in 2019—though, as Anna later reminded me, we'd actually crossed paths in 2018 during a club night, though we barely interacted. In December 2019, just a week before Christmas, I got into a car accident that left me using a cane and needing rest. At the lime, I was lucky enough to be offered a seat beside a curious doctor who asked about my injury and shared her professional insights. What followed was a great conversation—details of which seem less important than the fact that it happened. As I was leaving, I pulled Greg aside with all the essential questions—because I knew I unequivocally wanted to get to know her better. A few days later, she was tagged in an Instagram post from that night, and I didn’t waste the chance to add her, taking it slow. Then, on Old Year's Day 2019, she surprised me by sliding into my DMs, asking about my plans. I told her I’d be with family in Maraval and invited her to join us—an invite she thankfully accepted. Since then, we've shared a journey full of highs and lows, each step bringing us closer to this moment.
