We're so excited to celebrate with you!

It will come as no surprise to you that the world is pretty different these days. Shall we say we are living in, I don't know, bizarre, extraordinary, abnormal, unique, times? Right now, we are planning to be doing things a bit differently! What I can promise you is that we want to include each and every one of our friends and family in some form of a celebration because YOU mean the world to us. When Conor and I sat down to start planning, we realized that we both have such wonderful people in our lives and are fortunate to have developed such strong relationships! The 'rona' doesn't exactly allow for that at a typical wedding. So, celebrate we will! It just might look a bit different. We've created this website as a way to share information! We can't wait to share one of our special days with you. Have fun, take a look around, and let us know if there's anything you want to know!

Our story began in October of 2019, which is a relief since life was a bit more "normal" back then! It was the middle of week and Anna's sister Molly was in town for a work happy hour. She had invited Anna to join, which is always quite the feat for a teacher on a Wednesday night! Of course, she accepted the chance to see her favorite middle sister. It was the first night of the world series and it was around 11:00. The group had decided to move on to a whiskey bar. Although hesitant, Anna agreed to join (as long as there was a tv so that she could catch the end of the game.) Once they arrived, it wasn't long before Conor walked over and started chatting Anna up about the game. Within a few minutes, he mentioned he was from Massachusetts, which immediately got the response, "Wait, I can't talk to you! Are you a Patriots fan?" Conor insisted this wouldn't be an issue. He asked if they could watch Game 2 the next day. Anna shrugged this off assuming he was going to be like every other DC guy she had met. Unbeknownst to her, this one was different and he was about to prove it. He called (not texted) the next day at exactly 6:00 and convinced her to meet for a date despite her tiredness from the night before. He insisted on taking her for a nice dinner before the game. Over the next few weeks, it was completely clear that this was not only different, but they were meant to be in each other's lives forever.

We took a weekend trip to Harper's Ferry and I was sure Conor was going to propose. We took a couple of hikes where there were beautiful views, and every time we got to the scenic overlook, I held my breath thinking, this is it. However, it just kept not happening. Conor had always said, I just want to surprise you! Well...surprise me he did. When we got home from our trip, he went out to get Shake Shack. If you know me, you know one of my biggest pet peeves is when places mess up our food orders. When he came home with the food, I was sitting on the couch and he said to me, Oh no! Babe, I think they forgot something. He started frantically taking everything out of the bag and he says, You've got to get over here and look at this! I walk over and look inside the bag and down in the bottom is the ring. It literally took my breath away. It was a more perfect proposal than I could imagine.

While we had to make the difficult decision to keep our wedding ceremony and reception on the smaller side, we are planning additional celebrations in our hometowns and DC! Why not keep the party going, right? (socially distanced, of course!) Keep your eyes open for email details about an event in the city nearest you.
