Anna-Claire first noticed Luke through their college ministry, but only in a very “from a distance, definitely not speaking yet” kind of way. Luke claims he had no idea who she was until he saw her out on the basketball court with friends after church one night. She likes to think it was because she was amazing at basketball, but he says he simply thought she was cute. Either way, he asked around to find out who she was. Eventually Luke followed her on Instagram, and a few weeks later he walked up to her at C3, introduced himself, and asked her on a coffee date. Anna-Claire immediately told him she did not drink coffee, so they swapped it for ice cream instead. They went on a few dates and officially started dating in March, but that chapter only lasted about two weeks before she ended things. Looking back, it was definitely a questionable life choice. Then at the end of June, Anna-Claire attended a church firework show and suddenly Luke popped into her head out of nowhere. She texted him that night, and before long they were talking again. They hung out, went on real dates, and after about a month they decided to give it another try. It worked out pretty well, considering they are now getting married.
