Although we had known of each other through our same sports (Cross Country, Nordic Skiing, and Track & Field) we became friends in the Fall of Sophomore year during Spanish class. Winter rolled around, Zach asked Anna to SnoDaze and that Spring we started dating - beginning our story.
After graduating high school, we ventured off to different colleges. Committed to stay together, we chose to do long distance for 4-ish years (COVID may have gave us more time together during Junior year). Every two weeks, Anna would drive her trusty Toyota Camry from Winona State University, through the beautiful (and sometimes stinky) dairy farms of Wisconsin, to Eau Claire University for the weekend. Thousands of miles traveled (roughly 140 miles roundtrip each weekend) to see each other every other weekend - and every mile was worth it. Our foundation as a couple was truly built in the years before graduating college. Going to different schools gave us the opportunity to grow as people. We continued to choose each other year after year of being long distance. It was the unspoken actions of our choices and commitment to each other that created a strong foundation to our relationship.
We are looking forward to our life together as a married couple. Building on the foundation we set in our years together so far. We feel grateful to be surrounded by our community of friends and family, and cannot wait to celebrate the start of our new chapter with you all.
