Anna and Karen met online at PlentyofFish and were enamored with each other's use of proper grammar and complete sentences. Anna was living in Charleston and Karen lived in Myrtle Beach so there was a two-hour drive between them. Anna agreed to meet Karen for a hike at the Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge, despite not knowing whether her date was a potential axe murderer. That hike quickly progressed into a weekend-long first date filled with kayaking, talking, and Thai food. Karen and Anna both value each other's intelligence, compassion, and motivation to make a difference in the lives of others. Anna is a high school teacher and archery coach. Karen is a caregiver for seniors. They both love cats (and Karen's Chihuahua has even grown on Anna) and spending time outdoors. In September 2018, Karen and her three critters moved to Charleston. Finally, no more long weekend drives back and forth! In December, Anna and Karen took a weekend vacation in Myrtle Beach and visited Myrtle Beach State Park, a place where they spent many happy summer days enjoying the ocean. Anna proposed on the beach and Karen accepted. (Karen noticed that Anna had washed her truck thoroughly before this beach trip and had a sneaking suspicion that Anna was planning something that weekend.) The rest, as they say, is her-story. We look forward to seeing you on our big day at a place that holds a special place in our hearts.
