When we had just started dating in 2018, we planned our first international trip together to Montréal. We didn’t realize it at the time, but that short weekend set the tone for so much of our relationship, exploring new places, seeking out great food, and immersing ourselves in new cultures, all while getting to know each other. On that trip, we wandered through the cobblestone streets of Old Montréal, ate our weight in bagels (on a self-proclaimed and self-guided “bagel and bookstore” tour), admired the city’s blend of French and English culture, and discovered how seamlessly nature and city life coexist here. We fell in love with the eclectic neighborhoods, the mix of 17th-century charm and modern energy, and how easily Montréal can be reached from the Midwest (where we’re both from). Travel has become such a big part of our story, and something that continues to connect us. Choosing Montréal for our wedding feels like coming full circle, celebrating with all of you in the city where our shared adventures began <3!
