Of course earlier the better, but we request your RSVP no later than May 10, 2023
There are rooms blocked out for the wedding listed on the travel page. There are a limited number of rooms available, so if the room block is completely booked please contact the hotel directly and ask to speak to Malissa Maldonado
Earlier is better. Room blocks will close by May 15, 2023.
Most likely one of the following has occurred: 1) hotel is booked on Thursday evening because that block was limited. Book your hotel for Friday and Saturday, create a separate booking for Thursday, and then call the hotel to merge the rates. 2) Before May 15, the hotel block is full or after May 15, the hotel block has closed. Please book your room directly with the hotel or outside of our hotel block link and let us know, we will contact the hotel to include you in our block for arrival purposes. We will see if they can honor our block rate but there are no guarantees.
Hotel check in is subject to availability. We recommend calling the hotel to inquire the day before to request. Pricing is as follows: Check-in prior to 10am = $75 ($50 for World of Hyatt Members) Check-in 10am to 3pm = $50 ($25 for World of Hyatt Members)
Most events are at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, and there is a shuttle from O'Hare to the hotel. Please see the "travel" section regarding hotel shuttle schedule
Yes, on site facility parking is available currently at a discounted rate of $16/day
Whatever you feel comfortable in! American western wear is welcomed, and some may also see this as an opportunity to buy an Indian outfit. Since there are three events, if you had to pick one Indian outfit, we would recommend prioritizing the Sangeet or the wedding ceremony. The best cities for in-person Indian wear shopping in the US include Chicago, Toronto, LA, San Francisco, Edison, and NYC. We have tried Pernia's Pop-Up Shop with success. While we have not tried any of the others, the ones with the best reviews included Kalki, Cbazaar, and Andaaz fashion. There are SO MANY options, so be sure to do your research before buying from any online retailer.
Down time is not a thing in Indian weddings, but if you have extra time and would like to venture out, the hotel has some great and very well organized recommendations seen here: https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/illinois/hyatt-regency-ohare/chiro/area-attractions
During his Baraat, Yoga will arrive on a white horse surrounded by his dancing friends and family. However, all who wish to dance and be merry are welcome! Meant to symbolize the arrival from the groom's village to the bride's home, this ceremony is abbreviated. It will culminate with the Milni, in which Anjalika's family will welcome Yoga and his family to the wedding hall. Yoga and Anjalika will then be wed in a traditional Hindu ceremony. While we absolutely adore children, inviting everyone's children would make for a 1000-person event, and we want to have time to spend with each one of you! Therefore, only children of close family are invited to attend. The details of who is invited will be a part of your wedding invitation to follow.
