From the graffiti wall and the on-the-beach skatepark to Muscle Beach, the basketball courts, and the lively and eclectic boardwalk, not to mention the beautiful beach and the ocean -- it's a truly unique and iconic L.A. location.
Echo Park is where Amir & Anitra had their first home together in L.A., and is where many of these pictures were taken (along with nearby Vista Hermosa Park). Historic, eclectic, beautiful and storied, with Sunset Blvd. nearby as well as Silver Lake.
UCLA is where the botanical garden is located, and is where Amir (as well as his mother and sister) attended undergrad. It is an incredible campus, featured in numerous shows and movies, with the neighboring Westwood Village. A great place to walk and explore.
Exposition Park is near where Anitra & Amir live now, and is located right across the street from USC. It is a huge, arts / cultural / sports space, with the Coliseum, Natural History Museum, Science Center, South LA Cafe, LAFC Soccer Stadium, California African American Museum, Rose Gardens, and the nearly-built sci-fi looking George Lucas Museum. A wonderful place to explore, with numerous shops nearby, and very walkable (and by a train stop).
Downtown Los Angeles (or, "DTLA") is where Amir works, and is a must-see for visitors. From the iconic Staples Center (ahem, Crypto.com Arena), the Broad museum, MOMA, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Grand Central Market (a favorite lunch spot of Amir's), the Last Bookstore, Tierra Mia coffee, the fashion district, flower district, the bustling and always adventurous downtown streets, Grand Park, neighboring Chinatown and Little Tokyo, historic Olvera Street, stunning Union Station, City Hall, and some of the swankiest -- and diviest -- restaurants and hotels. Definitely great to catch if you can.
