Hotel

General Recommendations

We are not reserving a hotel block specifically for the wedding, but can offer recommendations on where to stay. The Sangeet on Friday night is in Sugar Land, whereas the Ceremony and Reception on Saturday are near downtown Houston, so we recommend staying near one of the venues or somewhere in between with easy access to Interstate 69. Good neighborhoods to stay in include: The Galleria, The Heights, Downtown, Upper Kirby, or Montrose. Below, find specific recommendations for hotels and other places to stay.

Flight

IAH (Bush) or HOU (Hobby) Airports

Both IAH (Bush) and HOU (Hobby) are good airports to fly into. IAH is the larger airport, whereas HOU is a bit closer, but typically only has flights for Southwest.

Rental Car

Should I rent a car?

We recommend you rent a car if you are flying in, because there are events both in Sugar Land and Houston. AAA seems to have really good rates for members on rental cars right now in Houston (We recently checked and they had a compact car for $12 a day the wedding weekend). Uber/Lyft is also an option, but renting a car will probably still be cheaper.

House Or Rental

AirBNB or Vrbo

There are many good house rentals in the Houston area listed on AirBnb and Vrbo. We recommend looking for rentals near the venue in The Heights, Washington Avenue, Montrose, Downtown, Galleria, or Upper Kirby.

Hotel

Hyatt House Houston/Galleria

This hotel is located in the Galleria, close to I-69, and has free parking.

Travel Note

HOV Lane

We would recommend using the HOV lane when traveling longer distances in Houston. All of the major freeways offer an HOV lane that runs in the same direction of heavier traffic. Please use the include link to learn more about the HOV lane and please reach out if you have any questions about it.
