What COVID-19 precautions are you taking?

Answer

We take the health and safety of our loved ones extremely seriously. As such, we ask all guests in attendance to do the following: 1. Provide proof of vaccination or a medical exception, as required by our venue. 2. May have to take a COVID-19 Antigen Test on-site, prior to attending your first event. 3. Depending on the state of the pandemic - wear a mask at indoor/outdoor events. We will evaluate these and other measures as the wedding date comes closer. If you are feeling uncertain about these precautions, please contact us immediately. Guests who do not observe these standards or do not discuss their reservations with us prior to the wedding may be asked to leave.

How can I provide proof of vaccination?

Please upload a copy of your vaccination card to the link below: https://forms.gle/5pj4JgHhiK2BbMQ78 We are especially concerned about the health and safety of those who are unable to get a vaccine for medical reasons. If you are unable to get vaccinated and are uncomfortable about the measures we are taking, please contact us directly.

Are kids invited?

Yes! If your children are not already listed on the RSVP, please contact us so we can add them.

Where can I see the schedule?

Answer

On the "RSVP & Schedule" page, you may type in your name and RSVP to all of the events to which you are invited. Afterwards, you will be able to see the full schedule and have it emailed to you.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We invite guests to wear either traditional American or Indian formal attire. Please see the event schedule for details on which events are outdoors and specifics about dress code.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is plenty of parking at the venue and on-site accommodations for each of the events.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

There are hotel accommodations on-site. If interested, please reserve using our code ASAP. In addition, there are accommodations in Wilmington, NC and in surrounding areas to the venue. You are also welcome to book an airbnb.

What do we do during the time gaps in between wedding events?

Answer

The short answer...take naps! Our wedding weekend is jam packed so take breaks and naps as you need! South Asian weddings are relatively long as they are filled with multiple traditions and rituals. The break between the events will give you time to relax and prepare for the party. During the break, the family of the bride and groom as well as guests typically change from one event's outfit to the next event's outfit particularly during the day of the Indian wedding ceremony and fusion reception. As guests, you can use this time to sleep, grab a snack, explore Wilmington, or get ready for the next event.

What if I have a food allergy?

We plan to order various dishes that are vegetarian and nut-free and will have each dish labeled appropriately. Please note your dietary restrictions when you RSVP or contact us via text or email and let us know what food restrictions you have, to ensure we can make appropriate arrangements.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We have worked really hard to create an intimate celebration that includes all of our closest family members and friends, so we ask that you come solo unless your invitation is addressed to your family or to you and an additional guest. We will specify all guests on your invitation. Thanks for understanding!

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Please no boxed gifts at the wedding. There will be a wedding card box available at the reception. Please check out our wedding registry.

I have never been to a South Asian wedding, what should I wear and when?

Answer

South Asian weddings are very vibrant and colorful. We would love if everyone can join in the experience and wear traditional clothing! If you don’t own or haven’t worn Indian attire before, we recommend saris, lehengas, or anarkalis for women and kurta/pyjama (long Indian style tunic), paired with khaki pants for men. Please avoid wearing red or white. We would love if you wore traditional South Asian attire on Sunday, May 29th at the Indian Ceremony. It is optional to wear South Asian attire at the reception. However, Indian attire is of course not required, but we think it would be really fun if everyone did dress up! There are so many different types of female South Asian outfits, which is what?

Answer

WOMEN: - Saree: A 2-piece outfit consisting of a top and a large piece of decorated fabric that looks like a scarf. The large piece of fabric will function as a skirt that also drapes over your body. The draping will cover your abdomen area and most of your back, depending on how it is draped. - Lehenga: A 3-piece outfit that consists of a top, a large circle skirt, and a scarf (aka dupatta). This style will show more of your abdomen and back than the saree. - Kurta sets: This is a 2 or 3 piece outfit, depending on if the scarf/dupatta is included. The main outfit consists of a tea-length dress and either loose-fitting or tight-fitting pants. No abdomen or back is revealed in this outfit.

There are so many different types of male South Asian outfits, which is what?

MEN: - Sherwani: This is a 2-piece set consisting of a colorful, form-fitting, and long jacket with either loose-fitting or tight-fitting matching pants. Eldon and the groomsmen will be wearing this type of style for the wedding. - Kurta sets: A 2-piece set very similar to the female style of Kurtas. The set consists of a long tunic with matching loose-fitting or tight-fitting pants. This style is a staple in the male wardrobe and is also very comfortable.
