New Smyrna Beach is one of the few locations where you can drive your vehicle on the beach. Vehicles are allowed on five miles of New Smyrna's beaches, and for years locals and tourists have enjoyed driving on its wide, hard-packed sands. Daily passes are available for $20, if you've rented a car don't miss a chance to drive up to Ponce Inlet and watch see the waves that made NSB famous.
You could say that New Smyrna's reputation as a surfing destination is a root cause for why we're all here in March. Father of the Groom, Steve Wright (pictured), spent years surfing in New Smryna and pursuing a career as a surf photographer, eventually meeting the love of his life, Sheree. While some of the original surf shops have been chased away by bigger brands, Nichols surf shop (linked) is a NSB original and is ready to help you shake off winter and hit the water.
A relaxed, indoor/outdoor location for brunch, casual drinks or an award winning Mediterranean-inspired meal. Sit among the trees in the outdoor café or sit inside and admire the local art scene from one of Florida's last great surf towns.
The Breakers is a New Smyrna staple and has been a Wright family favorite for years. A hole-in-the-wall spot for burgers and cold beer that is truly "beach front". Located at the end of Flagler Avenue and painted bright PINK, you can't (and shouldn't) miss it.
Island Roasters Coffee Company is a local coffee shop serving up in-house roasted organic coffee along with small breakfast bites and deli sandwiches. The coffee shop is located on the mainland side of North Causeway just West of the pink bridge. Island Roasters supplies the beans for lots of other restaurants and coffee shops in NSB, so you can still support them even if you never venture more than a couple hundred yards from the beach.
Small local shop serving Coffee, Gelato and small breakfast bites. Just off Flagler Ave and close to the beach hotels.
