We officially met 7 years ago (Wow 7 years! that's wild). I was working in my old position in the state and he has just gotten transferred over to our campus. From what we can remember he was patrolling my building and I was in the lobby talking to another coworker and that's when we met. After that he would stop by my office and check in on me pretty much everyday. He would be in there sometimes close to an hour to the point where his boss would come by looking for him and I had to pretend I hadn't seen him. I finally worked up the nerve to ask her to a see a movie and she said yes. Little did I know she would GHOST me and never hit me up to make the plans! After that I accepted another position down state and figured we just weren't meant to be. 5 years later I accepted a position back at our old campus and conveniently needed a female on my interview panel ;) Well when he reached out I figured he was in a relationship so I was nice and made sure to keep things completely professional. We began texting and talking about the past and he asked me if I was still single. I told him that I was and asked if he was still in a relationship and turns out he wasn't. So that's when the flirting began. I knew I had to be smooth with my approach this time around so I asked her to get lunch after the interview panel. She said yes and actually went! We laughed, talked, and spent an hour just reminiscing. We texted and talked more (even though I was terrible at texting) and I asked her on a official date and we had it set for May 3rd. I made sure we didn't do a movie this time so I didn't get stood up again lol. He planned a picnic for us and he picked up qdoba and had uno ready. We ate, I got to listen to his music, and then we planned the infamous uno again. We made a bet on the game that whoever won would get to pick a prize. Low and behold he was a uno shark and crushed me every time. His prize was a kiss! Fast forward almost 2 years late and I and we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary. She wanted us to get pictures done by one of my good friends so I told her I would set it up. I keep leading her to believe that I didn't contact him but I was making sure that day was special. I finally told her 2 days before the pictures that I had it set up. On February 6th, 2022, I told her that we needed to pick up the photographer because his car broke down. When we pulled up to "his house" I told her that we should play uno while we wait for him. She got down to uno and I told her that I had "one final card to play". I got out of the car took her to the trail where we had our second date and I got down on one knee and asked the love of my life to marry me. Over she cried and almost forgot to say yes but she finally shook her head yes and we were engaged. We knew we didn't want to wait to long to get married. We had prayed about it and it was felt right so we picked a date that was very special to us, May 8th, 2022, and amongst a small group of family and friends we said our vows and became man and wife and we wouldn't have it any other way.
