It all started in August 2019 in Rome. Anisha was on a family trip, Bernhard was traveling with a friend—and one spontaneous pub crawl later, our paths crossed. We hit it off, spent the next day exploring the city together, and then said goodbye, assuming it was just a lovely travel memory. But the story didn’t end there. A few months later, we saw each other again in Vienna and picked up right where we left off. The connection was there, but with an ocean between us, we didn’t jump into anything—though deep down, we both knew this wasn’t the end. In February 2020, Bernhard visited Anisha in Texas, and from that moment on, it was clear: we were in this for real. We spent nearly two years doing long distance (shoutout to time zones, flight deals, and video calls) until Anisha moved to Austria in September 2021 to study Informatics—and yes, to be closer to Bernhard too. Since then, we’ve built a life together in Vienna—full of cozy evenings, spontaneous trips, and a lot of laughing at our own inside jokes. We’re each other’s person for just about everything, whether we’re doing something exciting or absolutely nothing at all. Bernhard proposed during a peaceful getaway in the mountains of Salzkammergut, in a quiet cabin surrounded by nature. Just the two of us—exactly how we like it. We can’t wait to celebrate our love with an Austrian ceremony in Maria Alm in September 2025, followed by a South Asian celebration in Houston in December. Two weddings, one love story—and a lifetime to go.
