We first met in high school but weren't exactly high school sweethearts. Anika had a huge crush on Zoë in high school, as many of her friends can attest to and of course Zoë was oblivious to it all. After several years of friendship and keeping in contact even when life took us completely different directions, one day Anika told Zoë how she felt back then, and even still to that day. Zoë confessed that she felt the same way and then began something amazing. Zoë claims she knew that night they started talking again, that Anika would be it for her.

Zoë's mom told Anika that they should throw a suprise party to celebrate Zoë's new promotion. Anika thought this was a bit odd since Zoë had received that promotion about a month prior to that, but Heather assured her it was because she wanted work done on the backyard. Anika stressed for weeks trying to secretly invite their friends to a party and hiding it from an unsuspecting Zoë, or so she thought. The day finally came and through many different trials and unexpected obstacles, including the car overheating on the way there, they finally made it to the house. They walked in the backyard and Anika prompted everyone to yell suprise and as soon as she looked at Zoë, she was even more suprised to see her down on one knee. So many loved ones were there to support and congratulate us, it meant the world to us both.
