Anika and Daniel's story began at Truett McConnell University, where they first crossed paths during a training for the campus coffee shop, The Nightly. What started as simple shifts working side by side quickly grew into something more. Anika likes to joke about how she helped Daniel land the job, but truly, it was God’s hand guiding their steps. Just a few weeks later, Daniel asked her on a date, and the rest is history!

On a warm July evening, Daniel surprised Anika with plans for a picnic at one of their most favorite places: the overlook at Clarks Hill Visitors Center. It was a familiar spot, the location of many dates before, and Anika had no reason to expect anything out of the ordinary. As the sky began to darken with storm clouds, she playfully teased him about their timing. All of the sudden Anika turned around and found Daniel walking towards her, holding a small box. He then dropped to one knee and asked the question that would change everything. It was the easiest “Yes” Anika ever said, and it officially marked the beginning of their forever.
