A trail with a circular route integrated into the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park by the protected area was recognized by UNESCO when it included part of the mountains and historic center of Sintra on the World Heritage List with the category of "cultural landscape."
This 5 mile hike starts from the Historic Center and ends on Adraga Beach of the Coastal village of Almoçageme. Leaving the Historic Center passing by several old quintas, this hike uses quiet roads and mountain paths and passes by Monserrate palace and the villages of Eugaria, Jigaroz and Penedo. Expect beautiful scenery and wonderful views, pine forests and bamboo closer to the coast.
