If you're coming from Long Island, there are trains that can take you straight to Grand Central without having to stop at Penn Station. If you do stop of Penn, you can take the (S) Shuttle to Grand Central.

We've take the Metro-North several times. It's a great option! It takes about 1hr 30mins from NYC to Beacon. You have to take a taxi or Uber/Lyft from the Beacon train station to Newburgh.

If you arrive to Beacon around the time the ferry is running, it's a cheaper alternative to taking a taxi/Uber. About a 3-5min walk from the Beacon Train Station.
