Angelo and Maggie met at The Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota after Angelo played a show with Sweet Cyanide on the main stage. While he was on stage, Maggie became smitten with the rockstar bass player standing in front of her. After the show, Angelo walked through the crowd with the band right in front of where Maggie was standing. An unknown force took over, and Maggie darted through the crowd and kissed Angelo. Angelo pulled back, looked at Maggie, and asked, “Do I know you?” Realizing what she’d done, Maggie responded, “No!” and ran away. Two years later the two saw each other again at The Buffalo Chip, and the rest was history.
As summer vacation was coming to an end, Angelo suggested they go to the beach one last time to watch the sunset. After laying in sun all day and eating tacos at The Cabana for dinner, they returned to the beach to see black storm clouds moving in. Before the clouds obscured the sunset, Angelo suggested they take a picture. After setting up the tripod and reaching into his back pocket, Angelo asked Maggie to marry him, to which she said, “Are you serious? YES!”
