McPickle: A Love Story Let’s take a trip back in time to April 25th 2020, only a few days after we started talking on Snapchat. We still had not officially met in person yet. (For those of you who might not know, me and Kyles sister Chelsea were close friends in high school. So I knew of her brother but never actually met him other than maybe a passing in the school hallway when I was a freshman, but at that time I had not met Chelsea yet.) So the early morning of the 25th Kyle mentioned going to get McDonalds and I think I joked about being hungry too and he offered to get me something and drop it off to me. So of course what sane person would turn down free food at 1:30 in the morning? So I asked him to get me a McChicken add pickle and a coke. Well I remember being so anxious about him coming over to my house so late and I had to go explain to my father that a boy I had never met before was coming over to bring me food. Of course my dad was very confused and concerned about a stranger just showing up in the middle of the night but didn't question it. Then when he showed up I was so awkward and ran out there barefoot looking like a mess, grabbed my food, said thank you and walked away. Once I got settled and unwrapped my McChicken I discovered that my McCHICKEN was missing the Chicken. It was just a bun and pickles. ( A McPickle As we call it now) The poor man had just gone out of his way to get me this food and I sent him a video of my sandwich that was chickenless. I thought it was the funniest thing ever but he felt bad. But we laughed about it for awhile and it kind of broke the ice. Whenever I think of Kyle and how this whole crazy love story started, this is the first thing that comes to mind. It may just be a small thing to other people but here we are 4 years later getting married and we still talk about that McPickle.
