We're Getting Married!

Angelle's Side: We met on Bumble—it was late May of 2020, right in the middle of lockdown. I had just turned 18 and was dipping my toes into the real world, curious about what was out there. Like a lot of people stuck inside, I ended up downloading a few dating apps just to see what they were like. I didn’t expect anything serious, but then I came across Charles. He had this bright smile and the kindest face—it immediately stood out to me. On Bumble, women have to message first, so I took the leap. At first, I was definitely a little unsure. He looked like a player, and I didn’t want to waste my time or energy. But there was something about the way he spoke that made me stay. He was different—kind, thoughtful, and incredibly observant. He was actually the only guy I talked to on there who I had deep, real conversations with. When we finally met in person, I felt calm. Safe, even. I could just be myself without trying to impress him or filter who I was. That’s when I knew—he was the one. Honestly, I was about ready to delete the app—I wasn’t a fan of online dating and nothing had really clicked for me. But then I saw her. She was stunning, and something about her energy just pulled me in. Even though I wasn’t enjoying the app, I knew I didn’t want to lose the chance to keep talking to her, so I made sure to get her number. From the start, she was the only woman I actually connected with on a deeper level—like we were really talking, not just chatting. Eventually, we decided to meet. I was nervous, and I’ll admit it—I was super awkward on that first date. That’s not usually like me, but with her, I just didn’t want to mess it up. She, on the other hand, was so calm and cool. Being with her made it easier to just let my guard down and be myself. And somehow, all this time later, she’s still keeping me around.
