Joshua had never been to New York City before and always talked about wanting to visit. So for his birthday weekend in September of 2018, Angeline planned a trip for him to show him all the historical landmarks, see a couple of Broadway shows, catch a Yankees game, just typical NYC tourist things. She was determined to make this his best birthday yet! Saturday morning after his birthday, Joshua mentioned wanting to visit the Central Park Zoo, but asked to check out the Conservatory Garden on the other end of the Park first. It seemed to be just another touristy stop on their list of many. Little did she know... The Conservatory Garden was beautiful and peaceful, filled with painters, photographers, and people practicing tai chi. They strolled along, eventually finding a dedicated bench facing the Untermyer Fountain and sat for a while admiring the scenery before them. Angeline joked to Joshua that the NYC landscapers could do a better job at trimming the hedges and leveling out the bushes so the landscape designs could be better seen. And as soon as she finished her playful complaint, she turned her head to the left to see Joshua bent on one knee, asking her to spend the rest of her life with him.
