Sam and Angie first met when they were fourteen years old, just two freshmen walking into high school for the very first time. They became friends early on, always around each other in the same circles throughout those four years. Even though they didn’t talk all the time, there was always a quiet familiarity between them. After high school, life brought them back together on the very first day of freshman year of college. Seeing each other again felt natural, like no time had passed at all. Not long after that, they went on their first date to Flanigan’s. Somewhere between the food, the laughter, and the easy conversation, Sam decided he didn’t want to wait and asked Angie to be his girlfriend that very same day. Ever since then, Flanigan’s has been their special tradition and they go back every year on their anniversary to celebrate where it all began. Almost three years later, Sam managed to pull off something nearly impossible: surprising Angie. On July 24th, he proposed to her on a running track in a moment that could not have been more perfectly them. There were no fancy outfits or over-the-top plans. Angie was wearing a camouflage Zach Bryan concert tee, their favorite artist, and Sam was in a FloGrown shirt. It was simple, funny, a little chaotic, and completely on brand for their relationship. Since that first date, they have spent nearly four years building a life together through weekend trips, concerts in different cities, nights babysitting Angie’s sisters while her parents were away, and countless everyday moments that turned into memories. We’ve known each other for eight years, and yet somehow our story still feels like it’s just beginning. We feel so lucky to have so many amazing people who have supported us, laughed with us, and been part of this journey along the way. Our friends and family mean the world to us, and we are so grateful you are part of our story. Thank you for loving us and cheering us on through all the little moments that led us here.
