Some love stories begin with a grand entrance, while others unfold quietly over time. Ours was the latter—written in the stars long before we even realized it. We first knew of each other when we were very young, but life had its own timing. It wasn’t until years later, at 20 and 23, that we finally spoke—and from that moment on, everything changed. My first impression of Samuel was that he was incredibly thoughtful. He always made sure I was okay—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. His kindness, patience, and unwavering support quickly became the foundation of something special. What started as simple conversations grew into something deeper, something we both knew was meant to last. And now, here we are, ready to start this next beautiful chapter together—excited for all that’s to come. One of my favorite moments with Samuel was the day I realized just how much I love him. He is incredibly silly, always making me laugh and bringing joy to those around him. But beyond his humor, the love he has shown me has been a true reflection of his walk with God. In him, I saw not only the man he was but the husband—and, God willing, the father—he would one day become. And then, there was the day he proposed—one of the best surprises of my life! I wasn’t expecting anything, and in one of my favorite places, he asked me the easiest yes I’ve ever said. Now, we’re stepping into this new chapter, filled with love, laughter, and faith, excited for everything that’s ahead.
Our Love Story As told by Samuel I remember seeing Angelica for the first time when we were just kids—at different church events, youth conferences, and gatherings. I don’t remember exactly how old I was the first time I saw her, but even then, I’m not going to lie—I had a little crush. I thought she was really cute. We never actually spoke back then, even though she was friends with so many of my friends. Somehow, we just never crossed paths in a real way. Fast forward years later, and God finally brought us together. We reconnected when I was 23 and she was living in Oregon. We started talking, and the more we got to know each other, the more I began to fall for her. What stood out right away was how different she was—in the best way. She was genuine, kind, and sweet. And yeah… she laughed at all my jokes, which definitely helped. After about a month of talking, I found out she was flying out for winter vacation, and I was so excited. I remember picking her up at the airport with flowers in hand, absolutely full of nerves. It was the first time we’d ever spoken in person after years of knowing of each other. That day changed everything. From there, things just clicked. Even though we’re different in a lot of ways, we balance each other perfectly. Our personalities, our values, our love for God—they all came together in a way that felt effortless and real. Some of my favorite things about Angelica are her kindness, her caring heart, and her willingness to serve. She helps me with so much and supports me in ways I never imagined. She has such a selfless spirit, and I’m always in awe of the woman she is. I remember the exact moment I knew I wanted to spend my life with her. I told my dad I wanted to propose—and that I wanted to do it in San Diego, where I grew up. It just felt right to ask her to marry me in the place that shaped so much of who I am. Planning the proposal across the country wasn’t easy, and I pretty much had to pull it all together myself. I wanted it to be perfect—by the water, peaceful, and beautiful. Our photographer gave me some suggestions, but I ended up choosing my own location—one she’d never even shot at before. I was so nervous that day. Angelica had no idea. I remember seeing our photographer off to the side, and Angelica just thought she was a random person sitting nearby. When the time came, I reached over to take her sunglasses off—and I was so flustered that I accidentally kept them on my face during the proposal. I had to take them off mid-sentence! Everything else was a blur. I got down on one knee and told her, “I don’t want anyone in this world if it’s not you.” Now we’re here—getting ready to start our life together. I can’t wait for morning breakfasts, spontaneous adventures, quiet nights, and loud laughs. I can’t wait to worship God together—at church, at home, wherever we are. I know she’s going to be the most amazing wife, and one day, the most incredible mother. Angelica is truly a Proverbs 31 woman, and I thank God every single day for blessing me with her. Angelica, I don’t take for granted a single moment with you—and I can’t wait to spend forever with you. Forever starts now—and I couldn’t be more excited.
