COVID 19- How it’s impacting us

3.17.2020

Dearest Family and Friends, It is with a heavy heart that I write these words. Due to this pandemic with Covid 19 Preston and I have decided to cancel our wedding celebration. We are still going through with the wedding ceremony, however, due to the strict stipulations from the diocese and governor of Georgia we are being forced to keep the gathering to immediate family only. We are devastated that we will not get to celebrate with all of our loved ones. We were deeply touched by the response from each of you, and the plans you made to join us on the big day. Though you all cannot be with us in person we ask that you join us in spirit, and commit to praying for us on the day of our wedding. Our hope is that we will be able to celebrate with everyone sometime in the near future when safety will not be an issue. Preston and I cannot believe that things have declined so quickly. We never imagined we would be in this place. Please keep us in your prayers as we attempt to navigate these new obstacles. Stay safe & love to you all!! Angelica & Preston P.S. If you have a facebook, please tune into our Facebook Live event to catch our big day in real time❤️

Our Story

Far Up In the Hills of Georgia

Preston and I both went to Berry College together. We reported for football camp in August of 2013 before classes started. Preston reported as a linebacker and I reported as an "equipment manager" for the team. Anyone who knew me then knew that I had no idea what I signed up for, but somehow I ended up on campus with a crew of about 6 other students and then 100+ freshman boys. From the start of our time at Berry we always ran in the same crowds. Thankfully Preston's mom, Michelle and stepdad, Steve, had a place in Ponte Vedra, so anytime we were both in Jacksonville for school breaks Preston would always get in touch to hang out. Obviously it was just because he didn't know anyone else in the Jacksonville area and he needed something to do. Every time Preston would come over to visit in my home town it was always a blast. Whenever he left my family would bombard me with questions like, "Who's he?", "What's he doing here?", "He's cute, does he have a girlfriend?", "Are you guys dating?". At this point I was clueless to the fact that Preston might be trying to make an effort to show he liked me. I'd respond with "What? No. That's just Preston," he just wanted to hangout... with my parents... and little brothers... on a Saturday night... at the beach on vacation. Yeah, I was in denial. Needless to say, all those promptings by my family seemed to peak my interest in Preston by Senior year at Berry. All it took was a little liquid courage and some friends throwing an after party for a big Berry Football win for us both to admit that we liked each other! Our first official date was that next Wednesday in good ole Rome Georgia at Las Palmas on September 28th, 2016!

Our Engagement

Cochran Shoals Trail

Almost exactly 3 years later on September 21st, 2020 Preston proposed along the Chatahoochee River at sunset! Cochran Shoals is a trail we have walked together many times since living in Atlanta and now is a place that's even more special to us! Preston truly surprised me when we got back home to his place and so many of our family and friends were there to celebrate. We have come a long way since that first date in Rome, Georgia and we are thrilled to celebrate the start of a new adventure together! It means so much to us that you have been part of our journey. So THANK YOU for stopping by to learn more about what makes us US!
