Our Story

Peter and Angie met online through Coffee Meets Bagel back in June of 2017. Peter was late on the first date and his excuse was that he couldn't find parking. Angie thought to herself, there's an empty parking lot in front of the restaurant where she just parked. It turned out that Angie parked in the wrong lot that belonged to another building. Typical Angie! After sitting down, time flew and before they knew it, a couple of hours had gone by. It was a memorable first date. For their second date, Angie asked Peter to join her in volunteering on a Wednesday night at the Salvation Army to serve food to the homeless. This was the moment that Peter knew Angie was special. Peter thought to himself, "I've never met a girl who asked me to volunteer as a date". Peter came week-after-week to volunteer until the program ended nearly a year later. They grew their love over their Wednesday date nights and weekend hikes with Zeus. Peter says that Angie fell in love with Zeus first, before him. Angie always says it's a close tie, but Peter was first! Two years later, they went on a trip to Tulum, Mexico. In the early evening of January 3rd, 2020, Peter found a "message in a bottle" on the beach, showed it to Angie, and asked her to open it. Angie refused at first because she was nervous that it could be a cursed bottle or bad juju. So, Peter opened it, gave the note to Angie, and asked her to read it. At the end of the letter, it read "Angeli Rose Layug, my dear, will you marry me?" and she said YES!
