Todd and Angelia’s story started in the most unexpected way, with a simple friend request on Facebook. Angelia added him through a mutual friends suggestion on a whim, not thinking much of it, but seconds later, a message popped up: “Do I know you?” Smooth, right?.. But, she answered, and that one message turned into days of back-and-forth, then weeks. Conversation flowed like they had known each other forever. And when they finally met in person, something just clicked. From that day on, they were truly inseparable, not in the casual sense, but in the real way: they didn’t spend a single night apart from each other from the day they met until sometime after their second son was born. They started dating on August 12, 2017, and life didn’t slow down. A little over a year later, while on a winter getaway to Deep Creek, Maryland, Angelia, pregnant and battling a stubborn sinus infection, pushed through the chill and the sniffles for a quiet moment in nature. Todd had been holding onto a plan, waiting for the right place and time. And as they stood before the beauty of Swallow Falls, surrounded by the sound of water rushing and their breath visible in the air, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever. Despite feeling under the weather, Angelia’s heart was full. Through happy tears and a tired smile, she said yes. It was everything she had hoped for, and more. Over the next few years, their family grew, and so did their love. First came Cedar, born on May 7, 2019, sharing a birthday with Angelia herself, proof that God has a poetic sense of timing. Then came Mantis, born January 7, 2021, and sweet baby Eden, born January 9, 2024. Three wild, wonderful boys who filled the house with energy, chaos, and joy. Their home is loud. Their dogs are louder. Their faith is loudest of all. Through surgeries, health struggles, long nights, and diaper explosions, Todd never left Angelia’s side. He became her anchor, her steady hand, her favorite joke partner, and her warmest hug. They leaned into God and into each other, building a life held together not by perfection, but by grace. They’re not trying to be anyone else. They are the family in matching outfits, laughing in the middle of the mess, breathing and praying through the hard days, and singing and dancing through the good ones. They love big, they love loud, and they love each other without conditions. And every day, they choose each other, over and over again.
