Our Story

The world was in turmoil, yet amidst the uncertainty, destiny was quietly at work. Zach spent the year before medical school volunteering with AmeriCorps and was recruited to Kedren Clinic to assist with COVID-19 vaccinations. Meanwhile, Angel accepted the same volunteer opportunity as part of her Master’s program. Neither knew the other existed. Angel and Zach arrived on their first day—driven by individual paths and the shared desire to help a world in need—unaware that fate was quietly bringing two soulmates together. Even though masks covered more than half their faces, their eyes still found their way to each other. Eye contact led to conversations that they never wanted to end, which soon turned into shared lunches, then lingering dinners under city lights. Before they knew it, their friendship had blossomed into something undeniable. Their love had grown effortlessly, but the real test came when Zach left for Oregon to begin medical school while Angel stayed behind in LA to finish her Master’s program. Long-distance was intimidating for both of them, yet they poured all the love they could possibly give into every call, every visit, every moment. Little did they know, their path that seemed so intimidating would actually give them an explosion of adventures. Two years, countless plane tickets, and dozens of road trips later, Zach proposed at Angel’s favorite sunset spot growing up—the same place they had once dreamed of their future together. Obviously, Angel said yes to the love that had become the greatest certainty in her life. Zach’s medical education led them from the cold, grey skies of Oregon to the warmth and sunshine of Palm Springs. Angel, after graduating from her Master’s program, started studying for the MCAT and preparing for her own medical journey. That year became a chapter filled with laughter, late-night study sessions, and quiet moments of reassurance—memories they still cherish and revisit to this day. Now, the future they once dreamed of is their present reality. Angel has begun her first year of medical school, while Zach stands on the threshold of graduation, ready to become a doctor. Through every challenge and triumph, one thing has remained unchanged—their love for one another and their shared desire to heal a world in need.
