Their Story

Two souls, one mission. United by God’s calling. Redeemed by love.

They say that when you delight yourself in the Lord, He gives you the desires of your heart — and that's exactly how Angel and Corrie’s story began. Both were in a season of full surrender to God, serving passionately in ministry and seeking His purpose. Corrie, the owner of a mission-focused coffee shop, was praying for healing, restoration, and redemption while preparing for a mission trip to Colombia. At the same time, Angel, a missionary and pastor from Colombia, was visiting the area for a child sponsorship event. They had briefly met months earlier at Corrie’s café. But it was at church, when Corrie saw him on stage again, that she felt prompted to approach him and ask for mentorship. Angel agreed, and as she walked away, he heard the Holy Spirit say: “Look that way… Look at that woman. That’s the kind of woman you need — one who runs so hard after Jesus that only a man chasing Him with the same passion can keep up with her.” That marked the beginning of a purposeful friendship — built through Zoom calls, prayer, and encouraging messages, as they each pursued their calling. During her time in Colombia, Corrie read the book of Ruth and received a word from God: the man she would serve with would be a "Boaz," a redeemer who brings healing. After her trip, they met again to exchange stories. Angel gave Corrie a small Kenyan flag pin for her café apron, and as he handed it to her, Corrie heard in her spirit: “This is Boaz.” As Angel moved to Daytona Beach to serve at Tomoka Christian Church, their friendship quickly deepened. They discovered their mutual love for Jesus, for missions, and for reaching lost souls. Through conversations, prayer, and shared ministry, God made it clear that this wasn’t just a spiritual connection; it was a call to walk in covenant with one another. Today, Angel and Corrie serve as pastors of the Spanish congregation at Tomoka Christian Church, lead a multicultural young adult ministry, and follow wherever God leads them, as best friends, ministry partners… and soon, as husband and wife.
