Recent Changes

Due to Covid-19, our original venue, the Intercontinental cancelled our event, but we were fortunate enough to find a different venue, The Dalcy, just in time. However, rather than having a reception, we will now be having a dinner event after our church ceremony. As a result of current indoor dining restrictions, we've also had to decrease our invitees only to close family and friends. We thank you for understanding and we look forward to celebrating our special day with all of you!

How We Met

April 12th, 2013

On a Friday night, after an intense indoor soccer session at Lifetime Fitness, and after a shower and a change of clothes of course, I and a couple of friends decided to stop by Mistiko café for a drink before calling it a night. When we walked into the café, I was greeted by a familiar face, my friend Ani, who I had not seen in years. Sitting next to her was a beautiful girl with stunning green eyes that I had never met before. All I remember thinking at that moment was, I have to meet this girl. I could not miss my opportunity, so I walked over to say hello to Ani. To my pleasant surprise, Ani asked if we wanted to join them, to which I immediately, but calmly replied: “sure, why not”. We spent the rest of the night talking and getting to know each other. I had become infatuated by this girl. I knew I wanted to see her again, but I couldn’t just ask for her number in front of her friend. So before we left the café, I casually mentioned that one of the friends I was with was celebrating his birthday the following weekend and invited both girls to join. When I left the café, I was not sure I would ever see Basia again. Thankfully, the next weekend, Basia and Ani showed up to the birthday party. We spent the whole night together, away from everyone just enjoying each other’s company. And ever since that night, we have not left each other’s side.

How He Proposed

October 7th, 2017

My main goal with the proposal was to do it when she least expected it. I wanted her to be utterly surprised. That is why I choose to do it on a late weekday evening right as she walked in the door from work. The day of the proposal, I went to store to buy red roses, hundreds of candles, and a fancy bottle of champagne. At home, I spread the rose petals all over the floor from the main entrance to the main living area, and in front of the fireplace, where I planned to get on one knee and ask one of the most important questions of my life. I also created a walk path made out of lit candles leading to the fire place. I put on my suit, put the ring in my pocket and I took my position in front of the fireplace waiting for her to arrive home. Every minute felt like an hour, even the slightest noise would send nervous shivers through my whole body. I don’t think I've ever been that nervous in my life. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I heard the door open, followed by a loud gasp. She followed the path to me in her work scrubs. She had never looked more beautiful to me than in that moment. I was shaking and I could barely string together more than two sentences together, but I did somehow manage to get out “will you marry me?’
