One of our favorite spots in Somerville, Bow Market used to be a bunch of old storage units. They were bought and converted to a restaurants, shops, and drink spots. A fun place to spend an afternoon - which is why we decided to host our welcome drinks here!
Bringing your kids (or feeling like a picnic)? Lincoln Park is a great green-space with a big playground, skatepark, fields, and more.
A short walk from the hotel, you can link up with the Somerville Bike Path. We recommend entering at 114 Central Street and turning left. Walking the bike path was one of our favorite weekend activities (or at least a favorite of Ally's!) when we lived in Somerville. Highly recommend!
A family-run Portuguese-American restaurant, this is a great spot to grab breakfast in Union Square. Please note it's cash only (they have an ATM on-site!).
The original location and the Boston-area famous donuts! You can grab coffee here and a donut in the morning for quick breakfast.
Rated one of the top 25 bars in the world, this is a super quirky bar with speak-easy vibes. Rotating menu and there is often a line, but well worth the wait!
An incredible Peruvian spot in Union Square - be sure to get a causa de tuna tartare and pisco sour! It's a small space, so a reservation is encouraged (you might not get in without).
Our go-to Indian restaurant in Somerville! We've been patrons since they opened in 2019. Our favorites are the chicken tikka masala and saag paneer.
A delightful wine bar in Union Square with a great selection and cozy, neighborhood vibes. Bring games and hangout for the afternoon!
Our local friends know we love grabbing burritos (and margs!), and sitting on Felipe's roof deck! A great spot to grab a casual dinner and enjoy the sun. Please note, this is probably not an ideal spot for the kiddos - music can get kind of loud.
The art museum is a great way to spend some time in Harvard Square (and admission is FREE!).
Our FAVORITE cocktail bar - classic Harvard vibe and incredible cocktails (rotating menu, all the classic, etc). We also love the snacks here - messy fries, shishito peppers, and hummus!
For the jazz lovers in our group, this is an affordable and excellent jazz bar! With shows multiple times a week, this is a great place to visit if you are arriving early and want to explore Boston's jazz scene.
A nice lil tapas spot in Porter Square! Great wine/cocktails, solid servings, and reasonable prices. It can get busy, so grab a seat at the bar or make a reservation.

A speakeasy-style arcade bar behind a great grilled cheese spot.
Our go-to salad spot, it's a great place to grab lunch. There are locations in Kendall Square near the Marriott Hotel, Harvard Square, and Davis Square.
If you're in the mood for brick oven pizza, this is your spot in Kendall!
Our favorite museum in Boston! This was once Isabella Gardner's private residence and collection that was made public after her death. Check out the local events, explore the courtyard, and be sure to visit the empty Rembrandt paintings (ISW is the site of one of the world's most famous and still unsolved art heists!).
One of Boston's most famous art museum's, this is a great place to spend an afternoon enjoying the art and grabbing a glass of wine. Check out the touring exhibits!

Boston's famous duck tours go both on the water and through the streets to give you a sense of the city's history and culture. Fun for folks who haven't been to Boston before!
One of Ally's favorite spots as a kid, there's something for people of all ages here (but especially fun with kids)! From exploring the planetarium to walking through the dinosaur exhibit, the Museum of Science is worth checking out.
If you're heading downtown, this is our favorite Greek spot in Boston! Highly recommend a reservation, though you can walk-in if you're ok with a 1-2hr wait. Once you're in, start with the Tiropita rolls and homemade tzatziki (made tableside!).
A fun place to spend a day shopping or window shopping! There are high-end designers from Valentino to Chanel, and then plenty modern shops like Nike, H&M, and Marshalls.
