Milan is the fashion capital of the world. Great for finding unique styles at a cheap price, or going high end with fully tailored designer outfits. Milan also has the oldest active shopping galleria mall in Europe, The Galeria Vittorio Emanuele II. Sit and people watch with an Aperol Spritz, the local drink. If you still have your balance, spin on the bull’s privates for good look. You can also find some of the best modern art furniture in local stores.
Florence is a hour car drive away. Florence is known for its famous art galleries, gelato, steak Florentine, Michelangelo’s “David”, Da Vinci’s “ The Last Supper”, and the historic Pontevicchio.
Bibbiena is the closet town next to Poppi, Italy, where you can eat and drink like a local. Accessible by bike if you’re adventurous. Bikes will be available at the villa.
Arezzo is a 35 minute car drive from Poppi. The town’plaza is where they filmed “Life is Beautiful” in 1998, nominated for 7 academy awards. They also have an antique festival in the plaza every October.
Check out the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa only a 2.5 hour car drive away. Pisa was erected in 1173. For a period of time Pisa’s lean was so extreme no one was permitted inside. Most experts thought that, without intervention, it was only a matter of time before it broke in half. This triggered several engineering projects to prevent the tower from breaking. None of which succeeded until 2001, when visitors where allowed to re-enter.
Rome is the capital city of Italy. Check out the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and the Roman Forum.
