We met at work on a Friday afternoon; I was selling popcorn for a fundraiser for my Eastern Star Chapter. I was hesitant about asking Terroy if he would like to purchase some popcorn because I didn’t know him and on top of that we had never spoken to each other. Something told me to ask him if he would be interested in making a purchase and I did just that! I introduced myself to him and told him what I was selling and what it was for. He told me he would definitely purchase some popcorn but said he didn’t have any cash on him. He asked if he could give me his phone number so I could text and remind him to stop by the ATM on Monday before he came in to work. I accepted his phone number and the rest is history! Little did I know I would eventually become Mrs. Cooper.
On April 27, 2018 Terroy asked for my hand in marriage. This was the exact day (different year of course) Terroy and I first met. He told me we were going to take a trip to Dallas, TX to attend his friend “surprise birthday party.” He told me to dress up because the party was going to be at an upscale venue. That Friday night (April 27, 2018) we went to the Reunion Tower downtown Dallas for drinks before we went to the “surprise party.” There was a waiting list to get in the actual restaurant to eat and even have drinks. Terroy said “we can go up to the top of the tower to view the city this way we can waste some time while waiting to get drinks.” I was all for it (I was excited to view the beautiful scenery of Dallas). After about 15 minutes of being at the top of the tower, Terroy starts acting weird (in other words he was getting nervous because he was about to pop the big question lol). He looked me in the eyes and said “Angela I love you and I thank God that He placed you in my life. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” He proceeded to get on one knee and he asked the big question “will you marry me?” And of course I said, YES!
