Nick’s story

Angela and I met at George Mason University when I was a sophomore, and she was a freshman. I was fortunate enough to meet Angela within her first 24 hours on campus, at a fraternity party aptly named “Freshman Move-In Night Party”. This night was significant for George Mason’s Greek life scene as it kicked off "pre-rush", where potential new members could explore which organization they felt most connected to. For me, it was among this sea of new faces that I locked eyes with my future wife on August 25th, 2016. We met in the basement of "The Estate", transformed into a dimly lit dance floor with the bass of electronic remixes of hip-hop hits reverberating off the walls. While everyone else was grinding and dancing, Angela and I were playfully salsa-ing, spinning each other, creating a surprisingly wholesome moment amidst the chaos. Although I can't claim time stood still, I vividly remember how the crowd seemed to fade, leaving just us. That night, we shared our first kiss. However, I made a critical mistake by not getting Angela's number. Months passed before we met again at another party, where I was, unfortunately, in a relationship. Angela remained patient, perhaps sensing that my current relationship wouldn't last. True to her intuition, once I was single again, we reconnected, starting anew as friends. Over the summer, we kept in touch, and by the new school year, our conversations grew more frequent, reigniting the initial spark. After over a year of playing cat & mouse with each other, on January 2nd, 2018, we had an hours-long FaceTime call, virtually pillow-talking. At 2:30 AM on January 3rd, 2018, I asked Angela to be my girlfriend and told her I was in love with her. Rumor has it we both cried, though I can't confirm that. Determined to see each other, but underestimating the incoming snowstorm, Angela managed to borrow her sister Christina's Chevy Volt for the journey. The trip was fraught with challenges—dead phones, no maps, flat tires, closed stores, and treacherous road conditions, turning what should have been a 4-hour drive into an 8-hour ordeal. Yet, she made it, and in the fresh snow of my hometown, I realized, "This is it, I've found my person."

Angela’s Story

From the moment we met, there was an undeniable spark- something effortless and magnetic. We’ve always been able to make each other laugh, whether it’s through silly accents, ridiculous dance moves, or the way we somehow always end up striking up conversations with strangers. Nick is the most passionate person I’ve ever met, and he says I’m the most curious person he’s ever known - those are the things we adore most about each other! We met on my first night of college and a year and a half later, we fell in love! Fast forward 7 incredible years, and we’ve shared everything—surviving the chaos of college, the pandemic, navigating our careers, and even becoming proud (and slightly obsessed) cat parents. Through it all, we’ve been each other’s biggest fans, always encouraging each other to dream bigger and embrace every adventure. Nick loves with his whole heart. He’s so thoughtful, driven, FUN & full of energy—the kind of person who makes life feel bigger and brighter just by being in it. I can’t wait to marry this wonderful, loving man and begin our family!
