Question

How long have you guys been together anyway?

Answer

We had our first date on July 27th, 2022! Two days after our wedding, we'll be celebrating our 4 year anniversary! We met on this lil dating app called Hinge! Angela messaged Ngozi asking how long he'd been doing stand-up comedy, and he told her 9 years (!). She promptly Googled him and found him to be very talented and funny (what a relief!). They went to a Black-owned tea shop that you should totally check out called Just Add Honey, and he couldn't find parking so she got in his car after knowing him for two minutes, and they found the parking together! They also found out that they had the same car (shoutout to red Toyota Corollas). They hung out for like five hours walking on the Beltline, and they've been hanging out for five hours+ since!

Question

I know parking in Atlanta is a nightmare—any advice for parking at these events?

Answer

Yes! For the Friday afternoon kickback at their apartment complex, there's free street parking on Pearl Street and paid parking in the Alton East parking garage. For the Supermarket party Friday night, here are some options from their website: -- Six story deck at 675 N. Highland Ave. $5–$6 for up to 2 hr, +$1 for each hr added. $14 daily max. -- Public lot at N. Highland and Ponce (behind and in front of Plaza Theatre). “Scan to Pay” signs. Mon–Sat: 7am–10pm. Free for 15 min. $5 for 1 hr, +$1 for each added. For the Saturday reception, you can park at the DeKalb County Courthouse Parking Deck (125 W Trinity Pl) for $6. You can also park at the One West Court Square Parking Deck (158 W Ponce de Leon Ave).

Question

And is there a dress code?

Answer

This is a great question! You're welcome to wear whatever makes you feel good. Angela and Ngozi will probably go semi-formal for the parties on Friday and Saturday night, and casual during the day on Friday, but there is no dress code or color scheme—wear whatever you'd like! Update: OK if it's helpful, Angela is wearing a colorful maxi dress on Friday afternoon, a brown sequined cocktail dress on Friday that her mom picked out (!) and an ankle-length white wedding dress for the Saturday reception with a traditional Nigerian outfit change halfway through. Wear whatever you'd like--we're just happy to see you! x

Question

Are there other gift options beyond the registry?

Answer

First of all, do not feel pressured to get us a gift—your presence is a gift! Also, we both have attended many a wedding where we were strapped for cash, so we do not expect you to buy us something on top of the expense of coming to our wedding celebration! If you insist, see this Google Doc for other gift ideas (you might have to copy and paste it into your browser lol): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aOWmcGe2xIJyMOq41Ud8rL4pT9MJ6TyDY1ozuQBW_Sw/edit?tab=t.kcyrzdkw0h9d

Question

How can I help?

Answer

A lot of you beautiful people have asked how you can help us prepare for the wedding. Like with the gifts, don’t at all feel pressured to help–we want you to just come and have a good time and celebrate with us. We love you all and are so happy you’re in our lives! You don’t need to help. If after that speech, you still want to help, see this Google Doc for ways to do that. Be forewarned this is a very Type A Virgo energy lots going on document -- if you are overwhelmed by details, just text us instead lol: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aOWmcGe2xIJyMOq41Ud8rL4pT9MJ6TyDY1ozuQBW_Sw/edit?tab=t.du1a5d6hve33
