Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Angela Pawley and Isaiah Tubbs
We’re excited to share some of our favorite places in Chicagoland with you! We hope our out-of-town guests have some extra time to explore and enjoy some of Chicago’s many attractions, restaurants, and sightseeing activities!
Navy Pier

Navy Pier

600 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

Navy Pier is a great place to spend the day, located right on Lake Michigan, with beautiful skyline views and plenty to do! You’ll find boat rides on the lake, the Shakespeare Theater, Butterfly House, various shops and restaurants (including the famous Billy Goat Tavern—yes, the one from the classic SNL skit), mini-golf, and rides—most notably the iconic Ferris wheel. They also put on a free fireworks show every Wednesday and Saturday night throughout the summer (perfect timing)! And don’t miss the roasted nuts stands… they’re Angela’s favorite treat whenever she visits!

Millennium Park

Millennium Park

Chicago, IL 60602

Millennium Park is a must-see Chicago landmark and a great place to spend time outdoors! Stop by the famous Bean sculpture for photos (one of Isaiah's favorites), enjoy the beautiful gardens and public art, and catch free concerts and events at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion when they’re scheduled. It’s an easy, scenic spot to walk around and take in the city atmosphere.

Chicago Riverwalk

Chicago Riverwalk

Chicago, IL 60601

The Chicago Riverwalk is a great place to stroll, relax, and take in the city views right along the river! It’s lined with restaurants, bars, and outdoor seating, making it a perfect spot for dinner, a drink, or just a walk to enjoy the atmosphere—especially on a nice day or in the evening.

Lincoln Park Zoo

Lincoln Park Zoo

2001 N. Clark St., Chicago, IL 60614

Lincoln Park Zoo is wonderful! It's a great family-friendly place to spend the day, and admission is free. Fun fact: it’s one of the first places Angela took Isaiah when he visited Chicago for the first time!

Willis Tower Skydeck

Willis Tower Skydeck

Chicago, IL 60606

The Skydeck at the Willis Tower (what locals who grew up here still call the "Sears Tower") offers incredible views from the top of the city’s tallest building. You can step out onto the glass ledges for a unique and thrilling experience high above the city—though if you’re afraid of heights, this one may not be for you.

Museums

Chicago is home to several world-class museums, with something for everyone to enjoy! Some of our favorites include the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Wrigley Field

1060 West Addison Street, Chicago, IL 60613

Wrigley Field is one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks and home of the Chicago Cubs! Whether you catch a game or just walk around the surrounding Wrigleyville neighborhood, it’s a super fun and lively area to experience! Fun fact: Angela and Isaiah went to their very first Cubs game together!

Kingston Mines

Kingston Mines

2548 North Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60614

Angela's and Isaiah's favorite Chicago blues club! Chicago also has a House of Blues, along with several other music venues throughout the city and suburbs.

Deep Dish Pizza

Deep Dish Pizza

When you're in Chicago, you have to try some authentic Chicago deep dish pizza! Our personal favorite is Lou Malnati's, though some people would argue that Giordano's or Gino's East is better. This is probably the biggest (and most important) debate among Chicagoans.

Thin Crust "Tavern-Style" Pizza

Thin Crust "Tavern-Style" Pizza

You’ll be able to find great thin-crust pizza just about anywhere in Chicago, but our local favorites are Gianorio’s Pizza in Lombard and Joseph’s Pizza in Glendale Heights. Rosati’s is also delicious and has several locations throughout Chicagoland.

Portillo's

Portillo's

Portillo’s is a go-to spot for Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, and the famous chocolate cake shake. The cheese fries are also a must! Fun fact: this was Angela’s first job in high school!
